At the Impact Center for Policy Research, our Public Policy Engagement Program is dedicated to empowering the people of Zambia to actively engage in shaping their nation’s public policies. Through a range of activities—including essay competitions, policy pitches, stakeholder forums, and public discussions—we aim to foster informed policy dialogue and drive sustainable development and economic freedom across the country.
Essay Competitions: We invite Zambians to participate in essay competitions that explore critical public policy issues affecting their lives and the nation. Topics will cover economic freedom, regulatory reforms, and sustainable development. These essays will not only contribute to national policy debates but also provide a platform for individuals to voice their perspectives and solutions.
Our program creates platforms for Zambians—including business leaders, policymakers, and everyday citizens—to engage in meaningful dialogue about public policy. Through stakeholder forums, we address regulatory challenges and advocate for policies that support economic freedom and growth, ensuring that the voices of ordinary Zambians contribute to shaping the country’s future.
Our team will produce concise, evidence-based policy briefs that analyze key issues affecting Zambia. These briefs will offer actionable recommendations for improving the business climate and fostering sustainable development. We will disseminate these briefs to government bodies, industry associations, and media outlets to influence policy reforms that benefit the broader public.
We will organize policy talks featuring experts, economists, and policymakers who will discuss important economic and public policy challenges. These events will be open to the public, providing a space for Zambians to gain insights, engage in discussions, and contribute to the debate on policy reforms that affect their lives.
Our program also focuses on building the capacity of Zambians to engage effectively in policy advocacy. Through training sessions, participants will learn how to articulate their policy proposals and influence decision-makers, empowering them to play an active role in shaping Zambia’s policies.
